Terms and conditions
Last updated 17 October 2026
Draft: some business details are still to be completed (shown in [square brackets]) and this document is awaiting legal review.
These terms apply when you order a book from Lovebound Chapters. Please read them before you pay. By ticking the box at checkout you agree to them.
Who we are
We are [Legal name of the business, e.g. Lovebound Chapters Ltd], [Registered business address] (company number [Company number, if a limited company]). Contact us at [Contact email address]. [VAT registration number, or a statement that you are not VAT registered]
What we provide
A personalised, printed hardcover book (8.5 inch square) made from the story, details and photos you choose in our book builder. We print and post it to a UK address. We don’t currently offer a digital version.
How ordering works
- You design your book and check the on-screen preview.
- Before paying, you must open the print proof (the exact files that will be printed) and confirm it. If you change anything after confirming, you will need to confirm again.
- You pay through Stripe. We email you to confirm your order.
- Our contract with you starts when we send that confirmation email. We can decline an order before then, for example if something looks wrong, and would refund you in full.
Checking your book
Your book is made exactly as shown in the proof you confirm. Please check every page carefully, including names, spelling, dates and photos. We can’t be responsible for mistakes that were in the proof you approved. We warn you if a photo may print soft, but the choice of photos is yours.
What you upload and enter
You confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child in the book, or have their guardian’s permission, that you have the right to use every photo and piece of information you add, and that none of it is unlawful or infringes anyone’s rights. We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, if it breaks these rules. See our privacy policy for how we handle what you add.
Prices and payment
The price in pounds sterling, including delivery, is shown before you pay. [VAT registration number, or a statement that you are not VAT registered] Payment is taken by Stripe when you place the order.
No right to cancel once your order is placed
Your book is made to your specifications, so the usual 14-day right to cancel an online order does not apply. (This exception is in regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.) If you contact us straight away we’ll do our best to stop your order before it reaches the printer, but we can’t promise this. Your rights if a book arrives damaged or wrong are not affected (see below).
Delivery
We deliver to addresses in the UK. Delivery usually takes [typical delivery time, e.g. 7 to 14 working days after you confirm your order]. Times are estimates, not guarantees. We email you tracking details when your book is dispatched. Please make sure your delivery address and phone number are correct, as the carrier may need to contact you. The book is yours, and at your risk, once it is delivered.
If something goes wrong with your book
If your book arrives damaged, faulty, or not matching the proof you approved, email us at [Contact email address] within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We’ll replace it or refund you. This doesn’t affect your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which say goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, but not for losses that weren’t foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Other things to know
- Your information is handled as described in our privacy policy.
- If we change these terms, the version in force when you ordered is the one that applies to that order.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
- If you have a complaint, email [Contact email address] and we’ll try to put it right.
